What do we offer?

Providing Everything You Need

Free Trial

The trial class is free. The session enables you to get a sense of my instructional methods before enrolling your child. It also helps us to establish:

  • You and your child’s chess learning objectives.

  • Your child’s unique learning style.

During the trial session, the instructor will undertake an independent evaluation of your child’s attitude of the game and learning style.

Upon successful completion, You and the instructor will then both agree if your child should continue in either group or private class.

Group Sessions

The group classes are interactive live sessions during which I will introduce a chess concept and gives a corresponding practice assignment. Students present their understanding, application of the concept and ask questions.

In the group class, your child enjoys the following benefits:

  • Interactivity: – by observing how other students understand and apply the concepts, the students will have a rich understanding of chess.

  • Positive interdependence: – the students will learn the importance of interdependence. The students will appreciate the importance of reporting to class on time and completing assignments. Your child will understand how their behavior affects the group.

  • Individual accountability: – even though the sessions are in a group, the students are accountable for their work, completion of assignment and mastery of material.

  • Self-confidence and esteem: – As the students grow in understanding chess, being able to present their moves to their fellow students, will grow their self-esteem.

My intention, with the group class, is towards two key ends. The first is to give education on chess concepts. The second is to inculcate to your child, the values, principles and attitudes of professional a chess player applicable in everyday situations.

Private 1:1

The private class is a one-on-one class. In the private class, I will introduce a concept and give a corresponding practice assignment. In this class, the student also presents their understanding, application of the concept and ask questions.
